Double opt-in has an additional step which single opt-in does not. With double opt-in, when a subscriber signs up through a subscription form, a confirmation email is sent to them and they must click on the link to confirm they want to receive emails from you. With this method, a subscriber can receive the initial email, but if they don’t click to confirm, they won’t receive any information from you. This is also called a “confirmation email,” and when double opt-in is enabled, subscribers must confirm in order to get your emails.
